You eloquently discuss genre, the male gaze, production values, and genre in a confident and interesting case study though you do no reference any specific genre theories.
I suggest you add another slide and reference:
1) Abercrombie who says that genres permit the creation and maintenance of a loyal audience which becomes used to seeing programmes within a genre. Explain with reference to aspects of the music video which fans of this artist will recognize and find appealing.
2) Katie Wales notes that 'genre is an inter textual concept' and John Hartley suggests that 'we need to understand genre as a property of the relations between texts‘. You have made some comments about inter textuality but need to pin your point down to a specific media theory.
At present a confident Level 3+ (B/A grade) Well done Barney but in your evaluation and in your exams you will need to root your analysis to theory. Though I am very pleased you have referenced media language and representation.
Barney you need to upload two case studies, one on narrative and another on audience. Your analysis is confident therefore you should be able to put together these two case studies. Contact me if you have any problems re deadlines.
